We're looking for a passionate fifth officer to help build something lasting for our community.
501(c)(3) Non-Profit · Now Accepting ApplicationsR.A.R.E. — Rad Action Recreation Evolution — is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Tiffin, Ohio. Our mission is to create new, exciting, and all-inclusive ways to get people moving while building stronger, healthier communities through recreational and action sports facilities.
We believe that well-designed facilities do more than give people a place to ride — they strengthen neighborhoods, support youth development, drive economic activity, and create connections across generations. Everything we do is in service of that vision.
Our officers don't just attend meetings — they help shape real, tangible things happening in our community right now. Here's what's on our plate:
Our flagship project — Ohio's first lighted pump track at Hedges Hill Park — is fully funded and on track to open around July 2026. Beyond that, we're already laying the groundwork for a Tiffin skatepark and launching a program to connect area residents in need with bikes and repair services.
We currently have four appointed officers and are looking for a fifth to round out our leadership team. Upon joining, the new officer will be welcomed through our standard appointment process with the option to move to a formal election once onboarded.
This is a volunteer position, but it carries real responsibility and real reward. You'll have a seat at the table as we shape the future of action sports and recreation in Northwest Ohio.
There's no single perfect background for this role — we care most about passion, follow-through, and a genuine love for community. That said, candidates with experience in any of the following areas will be especially well-positioned:
An interest in cycling, action sports, or outdoor recreation. You don't need to be a pro — just someone who gets why this stuff matters.
Experience planning, promoting, or running community events — from small local gatherings to larger organized competitions or fundraisers.
Ability to grow an audience, create engaging content, and represent a mission-driven organization authentically online.
Prior volunteering, board service, or experience supporting charitable organizations. Understanding of how nonprofits operate is a plus.
A genuine desire to serve Tiffin and the surrounding area. Someone who shows up, follows through, and cares about the outcome.
Comfortable talking to donors, sponsors, local officials, or community members. Ability to represent R.A.R.E. professionally and enthusiastically.
We want to be upfront about what this role involves. Officers who join R.A.R.E. agree to the following baseline commitments:
This isn't a resume line item — it's an opportunity to leave something real behind in your community. As an officer, you'll be part of launching Ohio's first lighted pump track, building the case for a new skatepark, and creating programs that put bikes in the hands of people who need them.
You'll work alongside a small, committed team that takes its mission seriously and has already demonstrated the ability to raise the full $250,000 in grants, sponsorships, and community donations. The foundation is in place. We're looking for the right person to help us build on it.
